3D and lenticular are an amazing new medium for delivering your branding or advertising message.  3D allows you to expand your creative horizons with movement, depth and animation. These mediums of advertising have proven themselves by delivering a lot more bang for every dollar spent! Printers can offer their customers new innovative services that they will be willing to pay for!

3D has incredible staying power, as a matter of fact a recent studies reveled some amazing facts about advertising in 3D:
  • In a side by side study, people preferred the advertisement in 3D 2.5 times more then they did the 2D advertisement.
  • In the same study, 2 times more people felt the advertisement looked better in 3D.
  • Overall, people preferred 3D 3 times more then 2D.
  • In another study participants were presented a DVD with a 3D cover and one without one. Participants were willing to pay 16% more for the DVD with a 3D cover.

The print industry is always looking for new ways to stand out and break the “price is king” attitude. Lenticular and 3D offer a printer a tremendous opportunity to stand out, to innovate and to create amazing.

What is 3D Lenticular Printing?

3D lenticular technology is the process whereby a flat 2D image can be processed and transformed into motion/moving pictures or static 3D depth effects, which helps to grab attention and make people stop and look!  Lenticular 3D images do not require any special equipment to view, and are adaptable to various print formats (such as business cards, postcards, posters and illuminated signs).

We believe that your clients and targeted audience will be very impressed with 3D lenticular effects on their business cards, postcards, DVD/CD covers, brochure covers, counter mats, etc.

We have included a sample of our recent 3D lenticular projects on our HOME page for your reference, including McDonalds, Telstra/Foxtel, Pepsi, Sydney IVF, Matt Hollywood, Mike Goldman, just to name a few.

What are the different 3D Lenticular effects?

Flip Effects

The "Flip" effects are caused by 2 or 3 separate images "flipping" back and forth as the viewing angle changes. Flips are highly effective in demonstrating Before and After images or Cause and Effect relationships.  The "flipping" can be Up-and-Down

Animation/Motion Effects

A series of images used together to create the illusion of ‘animation’, similar to what is seen in a video or movie clip.  Animation works well in illustrating body or mechanical movement.

The ‘explosion effect’ is a form of animation that takes a series of images to create the illusion of explosion.

The ‘morphing effect’ is where two or more images change into each other.  This is an especially good effect for one thing that transforms into something else.

A series of images used together to create the illusion of ‘twisting’ animation.  This animation effect is excellent to use on beverage products.

A “zoom effect” is a form of animation that takes a small image and gradually increases its size to create an effect that makes it seem to "leap out" at the viewer.  Zooms are extremely effective for logo recognition and emphasis.

Layered 3D

The ‘layered 3D effect’ creates visual depth by manipulating 2D picture layers.  The simulated depth it produces is a classic lenticular effect and tends to dramatically increase the time viewers spend observing the advertiser's message.
